Noel bids farewell to his father in tears… Former Assemblyman Jang Je-won laid to rest today (4th)

On the 4th, the funeral service for the late former National Assembly member Jang Je-won was held at Haeundae Paik Hospital Funeral Hall in Haeundae-gu, Busan. Rapper NO:EL (real name Jang Yong-jun), who is his son, was seen bowing his head in front of the hearse. NO:EL sent off his father with tears. Jang Je-won’s burial will take place at Busan Siloam Memorial Park.

NO:EL wore a mourning armband and bid farewell to his father during the service. Overwhelmed with sadness, he was visibly moved to tears. He was also seen walking behind his father’s portrait during the procession.

The late Jang Je-won, formerly a vice chancellor at a university in Busan, had been accused of sexual assault (quasi-rape causing injury) against a secretary in November 2015 and was under police investigation as of January this year. However, with his passing, the case is expected to be closed due to “lack of prosecutorial jurisdiction.”

On April 1st, NO:EL shared his feelings about his father’s passing in a KakaoTalk open chatroom with his fans. He wrote, “I’ve thought for a long time about whether this is the right way to say it,” adding, “Naturally, I am not okay, but don’t worry too much about me.” He also mentioned that he would “properly send him off.”

During the funeral, NO:EL’s hair was dyed yellow as he wore mourning clothes, staying at the wake to receive condolences. Reports indicated that he ultimately could not hold back his tears while there.
