A woman in her 20s, who had previously won a regional beauty contest, was found dead in her home, and local prosecutors have launched an investigation. According to local Mexican dailies El Universal and Reforma, the former model and ‘Miss Teen Universe Baja California’ winner was discovered dead in an apartment in the Polanco area on the 16th.
The deceased’s husband reportedly testified to prosecutors that “my mother shot her after an argument with my wife.” He reported the incident to the prosecutors the day after it happened, and it is known that their 8-month-old son was also present at the house at the time.
Local media have raised the possibility that the incident might not have been a mere accident. There are indications that the building’s security camera footage was manipulated, and traces of attempts to remove bloodstains were also found. Additionally, the fact that the incident report was delayed by about 24 hours is being questioned, and police are investigating the exact circumstances.
