[OSEN=Reporter Park So-young] Lee Junho has awakened in tvN’s ‘Typhoon Corporation’.

,

In the second episode of the tvN weekend drama ‘Typhoon Corporation’ (directors Lee Na-jung, Kim Dong-hwi, screenplay Jang Hyun, planned by Studio Dragon, produced by Imaginas, Studio PIC, TriStudio) aired on the 12th, the story unfolded with the young man Kang Tae-poong (played by Lee Junho), who loved flowers, joining the ‘Typhoon Corporation’ established by his father Kang Jin-young (played by Sung Dong-il) as a new employee amid the stormy season of the IMF crisis. The ratings for this episode increased, recording an average of 6.8% nationwide and peaking at 7.5%, with the metropolitan area averaging 6.3% and peaking at 7.2%, proving its popularity as it ranked No. 1 in its timeslot on cable and general programming channels. The repercussions of the IMF crisis were vividly revealed from Jin-young’s funeral. Choi, the president of Sapdari Logistics, a client of Typhoon Corporation, caused a ruckus by claiming he had outstanding debt and confiscating condolence money. It was accounting staff Oh Mi-sun (played by Kim Min-ha) who confronted this bitter reality, recalling precisely the contract clauses, invoice issuance date, and postal postmark, notifying that the payment deadline had not yet passed.

,

That wasn’t all. Oh Mi-ho (played by Kwon Han-sol), Mi-sun’s younger sister, who had been finally accepted by Korea Air, received an unprecedented notice of canceled employment, and Mi-sun had to give up her dreams of attending university. Wang Nam-mo’s (played by Kim Min-seok) mother Eul-nyeo (played by Park Sung-yeon), who worked as an assistant manager at a bank, was put on standby, enduring in a cold hallway after being moved out of her office. This harsh reality showcased the tough times everyone faced. Employees at Typhoon Corporation, too, except for Mi-sun, Go Ma-jin (played by Lee Chang-hoon), Cha Sun-taek (played by Kim Jae-hwa), Goo Myung-kwan (played by Kim Song-il), and Bae Song-joong (played by Lee Sang-jin), resigned and left the company.

,

Tae-poong visited Typhoon Corporation to organize his father’s belongings. His father’s traces, which had accumulated over 26 years, remained intact in the office seasoned by time. Every ledger and diary in the office stood as testament to his father’s intense life. Just then, President Choi from Sapdari Logistics barged in again, demanding joint liability due to unpaid debts and pressuring for a new representative to be appointed. Unable to stand by, Tae-poong declared he would take responsibility, telling Choi, who demanded qualifications, “I’m an employee as of today,” and even filled out the employment documents handed by Mi-sun.

,

Until then, Tae-poong planned to return to the flower shop and care for flowers after settling everything. However, he discovered a secret safe in his father’s office. As Mi-sun hinted, dreaming of a ‘centennial plan,’ Tae-poong entered ‘2072’—the year Typhoon Corporation would turn 100—into the combination lock, discovering bankbooks in his and his colleagues’ names. It was then Tae-poong realized the deeper meaning behind ‘Typhoon Corporation’—his father cherished every colleague, treating them as family more than employees.

,

Kang Tae-poong’s bankbook also contained letters from his father, known as the ‘bankbook letters,’ where he deposited 300,000 won monthly, leaving messages within the four-character limit for the sender field. The messages accumulated were, “Father supports your dreams. You are always the person I love the most. What matters more than the outcome are the people. We are more fragrant than flowers and more valuable than money.”

,

Thus, Tae-poong requested Mi-sun’s help, wanting to learn the work. He intended to become a ‘real employee’ of Typhoon Corporation. Mi-sun relayed the company’s last words to him, “Tae-poong, you’ll do well. Please take care of it,” and even made him a business card as ‘Staff Kang Tae-poong.’ Tae-poong, who had held back tears even at the funeral, burst into tears, deeply reaffirming his father’s will.

,

On the next day, Tae-poong arrived at the office with a completely changed appearance. He removed his flamboyant style and hair highlights, showing up in a proper suit with a briefcase, determined to learn work as a ‘real employee.’ Following Mi-sun and Ma-jin, Tae-poong headed to Daebang Textiles for delivery. However, something felt off about the company. The office was excessively clean, the file cabinets were empty, and the phone lines were disconnected. The ‘seasoned by time’ presence seen in his father’s office, expected of a company over 30 years old, was nowhere to be found.

,

Realizing something was amiss, Tae-poong urged Mi-sun to not trust him and refrain from stamp approval, sprinting toward the cargo truck loading fabric rolls. Proceeding with the delivery risked turning it into outstanding debts. Even as Ma-jin refused to back down, Tae-poong ultimately lay in front of the cargo truck on the asphalt. Flower petals fluttered over his face. His father once taught a young Tae-poong, “Falling flowers aren’t defeated; they’re striving to bear fruit.” With tension soaring in this critical moment, a hopeful ending blossomed, heightening expectations for the next episode. ‘Typhoon Corporation’ airs every Saturday and Sunday at 9:10 PM on tvN.
