[Sports Chosun’s Lee Yuna] The nickname “Eui Ja Wang” for actor Lee Dong-geon has resurfaced on terrestrial TV, reigniting interest in his past love life.
On the 17th’s episode of SBS’s “My Ugly Duckling,” the final story of the “Mother Avengers Tour” to Taiwan, which involved the “Misoo” sons and their mothers, aired. During a car ride, a quiz about the sons was arranged for the mothers. Heo Kyung-hwan hesitated to read a production team’s question about Lee Dong-geon, saying it was “too intense.” Kim Jong-kook, who saw the script, also was taken aback by the question.
Heo Kyung-hwan eventually mustered the courage to ask Lee Dong-geon’s mother, “How many public relationships has Dong-geon had?” prompting laughter from everyone. Shin Dong-yeop posed the same question to Lee Dong-geon’s father in the studio, who responded with “five times.”
Lee Dong-geon’s mother answered “three times,” but the correct answer, as Lee’s father stated, was five times. Lee Dong-geon’s father shared, “Whenever our son dated, he always made it public. I asked him why he didn’t keep it private, considering his career, and he said it was a way to respect his partner. But that’s how he ended up with the ‘Eui Ja Wang’ nickname.” Despite his father’s lament, this remark only reinforced Lee’s “Eui Ja Wang” image further.
His father noted, “He insists he was just being honest and questions why he is labeled as ‘Eui Ja Wang,'” shedding light on Lee’s approach to relationships.
This has led to a revisitation of Lee Dong-geon’s past relationships. Known for his dandy style and good character, Lee Dong-geon, who married Jo Yoon-hee, stood out for his bold, respectful public dating demeanor even when in a relationship. Actresses who publicly dated him continue to work in the industry today, and unfortunately, they are once again facing the consequences of Lee’s “Eui Ja Wang” title.
Meanwhile, singer Kim Jung-min drew shock by revealing he pays 6 million won monthly in insurance premiums. Kim Hee-chul remarked that he found it excessive when Kim was paying 3.6 million won monthly three years prior, but now it’s 6 million won. Actor Kim Seung-soo, known for holding three types of insurance licenses, analyzed Kim’s insurance details, revealing that he himself paid around 7 million won monthly over a decade ago, which would equate to about 14 to 15 million won today. Kim Jung-min shared that he had up to 30 insurance policies and had to give up hobbies due to the high premiums, adding, “Expanding insurance coverage is a source of happiness.”
Kim Seung-soo was particularly surprised by the death insurance; while most have coverage around 100 to 200 million won, Kim Jung-min had coverage of 270 million won for illness-related death and 410 million won for accidental death. Kim explained, “I got married at 38 with a wife 11 years younger, and my youngest child is in fifth grade. I want to prepare so my children aren’t financially burdened,” showcasing his love for his family through insurance.
