After reviewing the first and second content-certified documents received by the late Kim Sae-ron from Gold Medalist, it was confirmed that the agency, which had firmly demanded debt repayment, changed its position slightly to “let’s discuss repayment methods” after a photo with Kim Soo-hyun was released.

The first document obtained by Hankyung.com on the 18th included a statement urging debt repayment as a representative of Gold Medalist. This content-certified document was sent on March 15, 2024, with “Gold Medalist” listed as the client and Kim Sae-ron’s post-name change name, “Kim Aim,” as the recipient.

The document stated: “You borrowed 686,409,653 KRW from the client on November 22, 2022, and agreed to repay it by December 31, 2023, under a monetary consumption loan agreement,” adding that, “despite the due date arriving, you have not repaid the borrowed amount.”

Kim Soo-hyun’s side, which had taken a firm stance in the first document, included polite expressions and requests in the second one. It seems there was a subtle change after Kim Sae-ron released a photo, and this is interpreted as a sign of willingness to negotiate.

However, Bu Ji-seok, the legal representative for Kim Sae-ron’s family, argued that despite mentions of unavoidable circumstances like agency breach of trust, the document essentially demanded the debt be repaid within a specified period.

Bu emphasized that Kim Soo-hyun’s agency threatened legal action over the posted photo and instructed not to contact the agency’s actors directly. He added that there had been no contact from Kim Soo-hyun after the second content-certified letter.

Kim Sae-ron’s family suggested possible legal action against Kim Soo-hyun.

Meanwhile, Gaseyeon alleged on the 10th that Kim Sae-ron dated Kim Soo-hyun for six years starting November 2015 when she was 15, and that Gold Medalist sent a content-certified letter demanding repayment of 700 million KRW used to settle a DUI incident.

Regarding this, Kim Soo-hyun’s agency, Gold Medalist, stated, “Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Sae-ron dated from summer 2019 after she reached adulthood until fall 2020. It is not true that Kim Soo-hyun dated Kim Sae-ron when she was a minor.”

In response to the allegation that Kim Soo-hyun ignored Kim Sae-ron’s financial difficulties and sent a content-certified letter, the agency clarified, “The debt issue was strictly between Gold Medalist and Kim Sae-ron. It is conjecture that Kim Soo-hyun personally lent money to Kim Sae-ron or tried to suddenly get it back. Kim Soo-hyun did not lend money to Kim Sae-ron, nor did he demand repayment or have the authority to do so.”
