According to the Consulate General in New York on the 19th, there were no reports of any crime, such as attempted murder, committed by a Korean national against another Korean overseas in their jurisdiction. The consulate stated that under Article 36 of the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations, local law enforcement must notify the consulate if a national is arrested or detained. As of now, they have not been notified of such an incident, indicating the case was not even reported to local investigative agencies.
On the same day, Kim Se-eui, representative of Garosero Research Institute, released a video update about A on YouTube. A, who initially claimed to have been stabbed nine times in the neck, later changed the story to say that his arm was injured. The details in the medical report provided by A are also questionable, as it mentions a deep cut on the right shoulder and left hand but makes no mention of the injuries to the right upper arm and neck as previously claimed by A and Kim Se-eui.

However, there are suspicions that the recording provided by A was manipulated. Former journalist and YouTuber Lee Jin-ho held a press conference on the 7th, revealing an analysis report suggesting the recording was fabricated. Lee Jin-ho explained that the recording was created using synthesized voice through AI, with A adding his own voice and noise, showcasing the advanced level of current AI technology. Lee further noted that A tried to extort a large sum of money, as he also approached Kim Soo-hyun’s side, who, after checking the recording, ignored the matter.
