Kim Seung-soo Exploded at Staff: “Filming Disrupted… Got So Angry I Almost Fainted” (‘My Ugly Duckling’)

In a recent episode of SBS’s “My Little Old Boy,” actor Kim Seung-soo opened up about his inner feelings accumulated over 30 years. The episode, which aired on December 1, showcased Kim consulting with an expert to candidly share his thoughts.

During the conversation, Kim mentioned a recurring dream he has had since the age of seven, involving untangling a skein of yarn whenever he falls ill. This dream, he expressed, affects his well-being.

Kim shared that after his father’s passing when he was six years old, his family faced economic difficulties. He was expected to be the ‘head of the household’ at a young age, a responsibility he felt compelled to fulfill alone. Despite having 2,000 contacts on his phone, he admitted he has no one to share his true feelings with, revealing a profound sense of loneliness.

Kim also confessed to experiencing daily feelings of depression and anxiety, sometimes wishing for “tomorrow not to come.” This state of mind led him to stop listening to music about 17-18 years ago, as it heightened his emotions to the point where he feared it might lead him to impulsive decisions.

He also recounted an incident two years ago where he explosively lost his temper on a film set due to a costume issue, startling those around him with the intensity of his anger.

The counselor, having reviewed Kim’s assessment, noted that “comfort and rest” were recurrent themes in his responses, advising him to find ways to manage his anger. Watching this, Kim’s mother expressed her deep concern and sadness over her son’s revelations.
