On the 28th, the Netflix series ‘Totally Deceived’ concluded its long run with the release of its fourth part. IU, who has been leading the series, has received rave reviews for her captivating narration and her ability to intricately portray her character’s emotions throughout parts 1 to 4. In part 4, she depicted the growth and change of Geum-myeong with deep and impactful acting, leaving a strong impression on the viewers.

In part 4, significant events unfold throughout Geum-myeong’s life, showcasing IU’s detailed emotional acting. The childbirth scene was particularly notable, as she intricately portrayed the mother’s emotional changes from the pain before birth to hearing the baby’s cry. Through her fearful and desperate eyes when hearing that the baby wasn’t moving, she maximized the tension, while also portraying fatigue and determination to the end. She even realistically depicted the exhaustion and her head falling back, leading to deep immersion.
She also convincingly expressed Geum-myeong’s firm determination to protect her family. In a determined tone, she reassures her parents in the hospital by saying, “Dad, don’t worry~ Don’t be scared. I’m here. I’ll stay here, you know?” demonstrating her strength as a dependable daughter. Later, upon learning about her father Gwan-sik’s (Park Hae-joon) illness, she subtly portrayed the interplay of deep anxiety and an attempt to remain calm through trembling lips, teary eyes, and an unsteady gaze, delivering a powerful impact.

IU infused authenticity into the series by delicately expressing various emotions in each scene of ‘Totally Deceived’. Her performance was compelling from beginning to end, making it evident how devoted she was to the project.
