[Sports Chosun Reporter Baek Ji-eun] A debate sparked over a hospital visit video featuring comedian Lee Yong-sik’s daughter, Lee Soo-min.
On the 15th, a video titled “Mom cries in place of E.L., who doesn’t cry after taking medicine and getting shots” was posted on the YouTube channel ‘ApotTV.’
In the released video, Lee Soo-min and her husband Won-hyuk visited a hospital for their daughter E.L.’s newborn vaccinations. When E.L. started crying after receiving the shots, Lee Soo-min also burst into tears, saying, “I can feel the pain.” Won-hyuk jokingly pointed out, “E.L. is not crying, but mom is,” but even after leaving the hospital and on their way to the car, Lee Soo-min couldn’t stop her tears.
While E.L. fell soundly asleep in the car, Lee Soo-min said, “Actually, I’m not okay. I need to rest when I get home. E.L. seems to have suffered a big pain without any mental preparation, and I feel sorry for her. She must be in pain and feel betrayed, yet she’s sleeping well.”
After the video’s release, netizens were divided. Some showed empathy, saying, “That’s how parents feel,” “E.L. is emotionally well because her grandfather plays with her like that,” and “A mother’s heart breaks when vaccinating a newborn.” However, others criticized, commenting, “Why cry over a vaccination?” “This seems a bit much,” “She should stop making a fuss,” and “If she were truly upset, she should turn off the camera.”
Lee Soo-min married trot singer Won-hyuk last April and gave birth to their daughter E.L. in May.
