‘Indoor smoking controversy’ Jennie, finally reported “Disgraceful diplomatic breach”

Sports Chosun reporter Kim So-hee reported that Jennie of the group BLACKPINK was caught smoking indoors and was eventually reported.

On the 8th, an online community post titled ‘Jennie reported for indoor smoking at the Italian embassy’ was uploaded.

The author A, claiming to be a long-time fan of BLACKPINK, stated, “There is a controversy surrounding BLACKPINK member Jennie’s indoor smoking scene. It is assumed to have taken place at the filming location on Capri Island in Italy, so I requested an investigation through the National Petition for the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Italy.”

The author continued, “Since I reported it to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, they will forward the complaint to the embassy. I feel deeply saddened by Jennie committing a diplomatic breach, and I hope she takes this time to reflect deeply through self-restraint.”

The accompanying petition post stated, “We strongly urge the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Italy to request an investigation from the Italian authorities regarding the incident of BLACKPINK Jennie’s indoor smoking and to handle it strictly.”

Prior to this, Jennie’s vlog scene generated buzz on online communities, various social media platforms, etc. Jennie was captured taking what appeared to be an e-cigarette in her mouth and exhaling smoke while receiving makeup. Particularly controversial was the fact that Jennie blew the cigarette smoke towards the staff member right in front of her. Netizens reacted with comments like “What did the staff do wrong?” “Isn’t the staff a human being?” “Can’t she control herself for even a moment?” The scene that sparked controversy is edited. Jennie’s side has not yet provided an official statement regarding these suspicions.

Meanwhile, Jennie recently established her own one-person agency, ODD ATLiER, raising expectations for her solo activities. In April, she featured in singer ZICO’s song ‘SPOT!’, contributing to the song’s long-term popularity.
