In the drama ‘Trunk’, Seo Hyun-jin shares her feelings about acting in the martial law interview scene, saying she felt she was on a “rollercoaster ride” and wishes everyone well.

[Interview①] Actress Seo Hyun-jin revealed her determination in taking on the interview for ‘Trunk’. On the morning of the 6th, Seo Hyun-jin conducted an interview at a café in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul. During the meeting with local press, she shared insights about the recently released Netflix original series ‘Trunk’.

‘Trunk’ is a drama about a mysterious marriage service revealed by a trunk found floating in a lake and the strange marriage story of the two individuals involved. Seo Hyun-jin plays Noh In-ji, a character who becomes alone because of marriage and ends up working for the secretive marriage service company.

Seo Hyun-jin’s interview for ‘Trunk’ was initially scheduled for 11 a.m. on the 4th. However, on the night of the 3rd, at 10:29 p.m., President Yoon Suk-yeol declared martial law nationwide from the presidential office in Yongsan, Seoul. Fortunately, due to the swift response from the National Assembly, the martial law was lifted at 5:40 a.m. on the 4th. Despite the lifted martial law, a chaotic atmosphere ensued. Consequently, the ‘Trunk’ team decided to postpone Seo Hyun-jin’s interview to this day.

In the midst of the urgent and chaotic situation, how was Seo Hyun-jin feeling? She remarked with a smile, “I might have been on a rollercoaster, but I’m fine. I hope everyone else is well too.” She added, “Even after the show was released, it gave me a lot to think about, leading me to prepare for the interview with more thought.”

Seo Hyun-jin, who identifies as an INFP, shared her introspective nature and admitted to finding interviews challenging. Nevertheless, she expressed, “Today is the youngest day of our lives. Tomorrow we become older than today. It makes you talk about how you think and live. If you don’t take action, nothing happens. It feels stagnant. I thought, ‘What’s the big deal? Even if it’s comfortable not to do it, nothing happens. You have to step forward to experience something interesting, even if it brings stress. That’s what life is about.'”

She continued, “I had a hard time figuring out what to say in interviews. I thought I could show everything through my work. And then it felt like adding unnecessary comments, like providing an answer key. So I was cautious, but then thought, ‘What’s the big deal?'”

‘Trunk’ was fully released on Netflix on the 29th of last month and is currently available for viewers.
