Hwang Jung-eum clarifies ‘Pregnancy and Reunion with Ex-Husband’ misunderstanding: “We planned and conceived our second child after reconciling.”

[Sports Chosun Reporter Lee Ge-eun] Actress Hwang Jung-eum clarified misunderstandings regarding her reconciliation with her ex-husband.

On the 10th, a video titled “The Day I Got a Reality Check From Chat GPT” was released on Hwang Jung-eum’s YouTube channel.

In the video, Hwang Jung-eum reviewed her life graph through ChatGPT. After seeing a downward trend in the graph following her marriage in 2016, she commented, “There seems to be something about a person’s energy. Everything goes well when you’re in a good mood. After getting married, my energy got dispersed. (As my energy) deteriorated, things didn’t go well.” She added, “If I hadn’t gotten married, the graph might have gone up, but I would choose to marry again to meet my two sons.”

While looking at the graph from 2021, she explained, “After reconciling with my ex-husband, our relationship improved. Some people think we reconciled because I was pregnant with our second child, but actually, we got back together for the sake of our first son, Wang-sik.” She added, “We decided to live together again after making peace and went on a trip abroad. We planned to have our second child while in Hawaii. However, many people mistakenly think we reconciled because we were expecting Gang-sik.”

Meanwhile, Hwang Jung-eum married professional golfer and businessman Lee Young-don in 2016, and the following year they had their first son. However, she filed for divorce mediation in 2020. They reconciled and had a second son in 2022 but ultimately ended up divorcing.

Last year, she faced embezzlement controversies, which led to a pause in her activities. She was charged with withdrawing approximately 4.3 billion KRW from a company where she held 100% shares on the pretext of advances. She was sentenced to two years in prison, suspended for four years, and she repaid the full amount of the embezzled funds.
