(X Sports News Reporter Kim Soo-ah) Former EXID member and actress Hani voluntarily stepped down from an entertainment program she was scheduled to appear on.
According to X Sports News on the 20th, Hani, who had announced her joining as an MC for the new JTBC4 entertainment show “Review Cut” last month, ultimately decided to voluntarily withdraw.
It was reported that Hani felt pressure due to the controversy surrounding the death of a patient at the hospital of her fiancé Yang Jae-woong and decided to step down from the program after considering the possibility of causing harm to the show.
As the filming schedule changed, other cast members who were set to appear on “Review Cut” such as Han Seung-yeon, Uee, Yura, and Baekho, will also not be able to participate together.
The show, originally scheduled to premiere on August 12, plans to restart after assembling a new MC team.
“Review Cut” is an observational entertainment program that provides consumers with honest reviews and tailored explanations of items such as “viral items,” “sold-out items,” and “cost-effective items” that are rapidly changing in trend.
To deliver successful reviews, the cast members will not only go through product verification by using them at home or visiting stores before filming but also share product usage tips and management techniques based on their own experiences and know-how.
Earlier in May, a controversy arose after a woman in her 30s, referred to as A, died at a mental hospital run by Yang Jae-woong, which was revealed belatedly last month. After it was revealed that the hospital belonged to Yang Jae-woong, he apologized through his agency, but the victim’s family expressed anger, calling it “media play.”
Following the controversy that arose as Yang Jae-woong and Hani, who were set to marry in September, the postponement of their wedding was speculated, and Hani’s side also stated that “it is difficult to confirm” the postponement.
