Gu Jun-yeop, seeking solace… The late Seo Hee-won honored with a memorial video worth 150 million won per minute in the U.S.

[Sports Chosun’s Baek Ji-eun reporting] A tribute video for Seo Hee-won, the wife of Clon member Koo Jun-yup, was displayed at New York’s Times Square.

Photographer So Hong-su posted footage on his account on the 12th, capturing the video tribute for Seo Hee-won as it played on a large screen at Times Square. Purchasing advertising space on this massive screen in New York typically costs between 50,000 to 100,000 USD per minute (approximately 72.65 million to 150 million KRW). However, fans mourning Seo Hee-won compiled a video of her during her lifetime and displayed it on the screen.

Fans also played the tribute video on a large screen at the Nanjing Plaza in China.

Seo Hee-won passed away from acute pneumonia during a trip to Japan on the 2nd. She is survived by her mother, her husband Koo Jun-yup, her younger sister Seo Hee-jae, and two children.

The revelation that Seo Hee-won left behind a fortune of approximately 120 billion KRW has stirred controversy. Notably, her ex-husband Wang Xiaofei and his mother, Zhang Lan, have been spreading baseless rumors to the point of being banned from Chinese social media. These rumors include claims that they chartered a private plane to transport Seo Hee-won’s remains to Taiwan and that Koo Jun-yup and Seo Hee-jae coerced Seo Hee-won into purchasing high-value life insurance.

In response, Koo Jun-yup has stated he will transfer his inheritance rights to his mother-in-law and will take legal measures to ensure that unscrupulous individuals cannot access the inheritance or assets until the children come of age.
