Exclusive: Former People Crew Member and Hit Songwriter Oh Seong-hoon Passes Away Today (3rd)
OSEN’s reporter Choi Yi-jung reports that Oh Seong-hoon, a former B-boy and member of the hip-hop group People Crew, has passed away.
According to the music industry on the 3rd, Oh Seong-hoon tragically died early this morning at a recording studio. Many music industry figures are reportedly in shock over the news of his passing, as he was known for producing numerous hit ballads and making a name for himself as a hitmaker. Preparations for his funeral are currently underway.
A music industry representative expressed sorrow, saying, “We spoke on the phone just a few days ago about working together, and I can’t believe this is happening.”
Oh Seong-hoon debuted in 1998 as a member of the dance group People Crew, which included MC Mong. He later transitioned to songwriting, collaborating with Jo Young-soo on K.Will’s “Love 119” and composing songs such as Gummy’s “Please Remember My Days and That Time,” J-Cera’s “Love City Confession,” Navi’s “My Heart Got Hurt,” December’s “What I Learned Was Love,” “I Will Become a Star,” “Crying with My Heart,” KCM’s “Sad Snowman,” Shin Hye-sung’s “Age,” and MC Mong’s “Huckleberry Mong’s Adventure.”
In addition, he worked with top Korean artists such as Huh Gak, Chung Ha, Block B, Hwang Chi-yeul, Noel, Navi, Koyote, 2Bic, Zia, and contributed to numerous domestic drama OSTs.
