“Family of four all unemployed… living expenses covered by father’s 200 million won inheritance” Real-life ‘Parasite’ family shock (‘Lee Sook Camp’)

In a recent episode of JTBC’s “Divorce Consideration Camp,” a family relying on a 200 million won inheritance from the wife’s father was portrayed, resembling a real-life “Parasite” story. The unemployed “kangaroo couple” lives with their 30-year-old son and his girlfriend, sparking shock and concern.

The husband, grappling with severe alcohol dependency, revealed he had been hospitalized twice due to alcohol-related issues, including acute pancreatitis and thrombosis. Despite experiencing life-threatening conditions, he denied being worried and claimed he could quit drinking whenever he wanted. However, medical assessments indicated that he needed hospitalization due to his level of alcohol addiction.

The couple sustains themselves on the inheritance from the wife’s father. The wife confirmed they received about 200 million won but disclosed that the entire amount had been used up.

Adding to the complexity, the couple lives with their adult son and his girlfriend, both unemployed. The wife dotes on her son, who spends his time at home playing games, even serving him meals and running errands like getting coffee and cigarettes. Her excessive care stems from her son’s challenging childhood, including undergoing lung surgery at a young age. She appeared to excuse his lack of employment by citing his struggle with understanding bus routes.

Furthermore, the son’s girlfriend expressed frustration over the cleanliness of their living situation and felt the pressure of living in someone else’s home without contributing financially. This unconventional family setup left the show’s panelists stunned, likening the household dynamics to a comedic yet alarming real-world version of the film “Parasite.”
