On the 18th, MBN’s ‘Kim Ju-ha’s Day & Night’ released a preview video titled “Announcer Kim Dong-gun, ‘Kim Ju-ha trying to match me.'” The guest on this day was senior announcer Kim Dong-gun, who shared his humorous and lively anecdotes.
Kim Ju-ha expressed her gratitude to Kim Dong-gun, saying, “He was someone who came to my wedding and my child’s first birthday party after I got married and had a child.” In response, Kim Dong-gun humorously commented, “I went to the wedding and the first birthday party,” prompting Kim Ju-ha to playfully complain, “I wasn’t going to talk about the wedding…” Kim Dong-gun then retorted, “Did you have a child without getting married? You got married and then had a child,” causing laughter at the scene.
Kim Dong-gun continued, “When juniors have children, we usually give a first birthday ring, but I gave Kim Ju-ha a golden key. I had high expectations and she did well on broadcasts,” showing his special affection.
Kim Ju-ha cautiously apologized by saying, “So I want to take this opportunity to express my apologies,” to which Kim Dong-gun replied, “What’s there to apologize for?” Kim Ju-ha added, “I didn’t manage to keep in touch afterwards.”
Kim Dong-gun affirmed with a warm tone, “Divorce isn’t a crime, is it? After the divorce, she didn’t contact me at all. But since she focused on broadcasting, she did much better. I thought she would become a greatly successful announcer.” He then joked, “So, I corrected and scolded her a lot, but later on, she was handling things well on her own. She’s doing great till today. Now she’s grown too big, thinking to rival me,” lightening up the atmosphere further. To this, Moon Se-yoon quipped, “Is it like ‘How dare you invite me as a guest?'” making everyone burst into laughter.
Meanwhile, Kim Ju-ha married Mr. Kang in October 2004. She had her first child two years later in 2006 and took a 1 year and 8 months break from her career to give birth to and care for her second child before returning to broadcasting. However, Kim Ju-ha filed for divorce in 2013 due to conflicts arising from Mr. Kang’s infidelity and violence, after 9 years of marriage. Ultimately, Mr. Kang was sentenced to 8 months in prison with a 2-year probation in 2014, and Kim Ju-ha’s divorce was finalized in June 2016, 2 years and 9 months after filing for divorce.
The Supreme Court’s 3rd Department confirmed the lower court’s ruling stating, “The couple will divorce, and Mr. Kang will pay 50 million won in alimony to Ms. Kim. Ms. Kim will divide her assets of 2.7 billion won, by giving 1.02 billion won to Mr. Kang.”
