“Childcare Diaries” Choi Ji-woo, Ahn Young-mi, and Park Soo-hong all step down → New MCs Lee Yi-kyung and LALAL… First Unmarried MCs

KBS2’s “The Return of Superman” has announced a new lineup of hosts for its fall season, selecting Lee Yi-kyung and Lala as the new MCs.

“The Return of Superman” (directed by Kim Young-min, hereafter “Superman”) has been a beloved show since it first aired in 2013. In 2023, after Eun-woo, Jung-woo ranked in the top 10 for the TV-OTT non-drama category in the second and third weeks of June, proving their popularity as the youngest and most compelling duo. In the same segment, Haru and Shim Hyung-tak entered the top 10 during the second week of August, demonstrating the audience’s keen interest. (According to Good Data Corporation) Moreover, the show received the “President’s Commendation” on the 14th Population Day in July, further reinforcing its status as a “national childcare variety show.”

Starting November 12, Lee Yi-kyung and Lala will take over from Choi Ji-woo, Ahn Young-mi, and Park Soo-hong as the new MCs. Choi Ji-woo had to step down due to her busy schedule, prompting a lineup change for the new season. During their term, Choi Ji-woo, Ahn Young-mi, and Park Soo-hong led “Superman” for about one year and five months, sharing heartfelt parenting moments and childcare tips. There is growing anticipation for the chemistry between the new hosts Lee Yi-kyung and Lala with “Superman.”

Lee Yi-kyung makes history as the show’s first unmarried MC. Despite his lack of parenting experience, he is known for adoring his nieces and nephews. With these attributes, he aims to become a “prepared father” and embark on learning parenting on “Superman.” His fresh perspective as a bachelor is expected to bring new curiosity and reactions to parenting.

Lala, who recently joined “Superman” and won audiences over with her various characters like ‘Neighborhood Association President Lee Myung-hwa’ and ‘Y2K Singer Yul,’ is particularly popular. Lala shared that she conceived these characters during her pregnancy with her daughter Park Seo-bin. The duo’s dynamic combination of Yi-kyung’s inexperience with parenting and Lala’s experience as a mother is building anticipation.

Regarding the new changes, the production team stated, “As various family stories unfold, we aim to share parenting experiences from diverse perspectives and spread happiness through this fall’s lineup change.”

KBS 2TV’s “The Return of Superman” airs every Wednesday at 8:30 p.m.
