Chae Rim’s ex-husband Gao Ziqi came to Korea for their son’s birthday… overflowing with love during their ‘father-son date’

Actor Chaerim’s ex-husband, Chinese actor Gao Ziqi, shared photos of a happy birthday date with his son Minwoo. On the 1st, Gao Ziqi posted several pictures with the message, “Happy New Year! Let’s move forward together.” The photos were taken when Gao Ziqi visited Korea last December for his son Minwoo’s birthday, capturing the joyful moments between father and son. One image shows Gao Ziqi playfully pointing at Minwoo’s cheek, while Minwoo tries to dodge but can’t hide his smile, a sight that brings a smile to viewers as well.

Another photo features Gao Ziqi posing in front of a Christmas tree with his son and taking a picture of Minwoo. Additionally, Gao Ziqi shared a photo of Minwoo skating, expressing his affection for his son.

Chaerim and Gao Ziqi got married in 2014 and have a son, Minwoo, but divorced in 2020. Chaerim is currently living in Jeju Island, raising Minwoo by herself, and has shared her life as a single mom on SBS PLUS’s “Solo Day,” which drew attention. In a broadcast last November, Chaerim revealed that Gao Ziqi and Minwoo reunited after seven years apart.

Chaerim said, “It was the first meeting post-separation. The priority is Minwoo, so any hurt can be put aside temporarily. It can be forgotten. To me, the relationship is over, but for the child, a father is an unending connection. When Minwoo said he wanted to see his father, I suggested inviting him over, and that’s how it happened.”

Regarding Gao Ziqi’s reaction, she said, “When we were parting, he thanked me. He was grateful for raising our son so well. It was upsetting for me that I was the only one witnessing the beautiful process of our child growing up.”

After the broadcast, Gao Ziqi expressed his gratitude, saying, “Thank you so much for the interest in my son. I watched the video too, and it was delightful and touching.”
