BTS Jimin’s ‘Who’ surpasses 1.5 billion streams on Spotify, the fastest for a K-pop artist.

BTS’s Jimin has showcased his dominance in music streaming on the world’s largest platform, Spotify. According to Spotify’s update on February 28, Jimin’s solo second album ‘MUSE’ title track ‘Who’ has surpassed 1.5 billion streams. This achievement was made in just 223 days since its release on July 19, 2024, marking the shortest time for any K-pop artist’s song and the fifth shortest in Spotify’s history.

Without collaborations with well-known international artists or promotional activities, ‘Who’ has maintained long-term success for over seven months, setting a new K-pop record on Spotify. On February 26, it ranked 10th on Spotify’s global daily chart with 4,229,022 streams and maintained its presence on the chart for 223 consecutive days.

Additionally, ‘Who’ has surpassed 1.03 million searches on the global music search platform Shazam and achieved 36 million streams on Melon, Korea’s largest music streaming platform, illustrating its wide popularity across both domestic and international platforms. Prior to this, on January 15, ‘Who’ broke the existing record for the most-streamed K-pop solo song on Spotify, previously held by Jimin’s first solo album ‘FACE’ title track ‘Like Crazy,’ reinforcing the phrase “Jimin breaks Jimin’s record.”
