The girl group BBGIRLS mentioned their former member Yujeong who left the group. Recently, BBGIRLS (consisting of Minyoung, Eunji, and Yuna) held a round interview at a cafe in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam, Seoul, to commemorate the release of their second single ‘LOVE 2’. Previously, in April of last year, BBGIRLS restructured into a trio during the process of setting up a new agency, BRAVEGIRLS Company, after ending their exclusive contract with Warner Music Korea. Yujeong announced her departure, although the exact reason for her leaving was not disclosed. At that time, BBGIRLS stated, “We have decided to respect Yujeong’s opinion. We sincerely thank Yujeong for her dedication as a BBGIRLS member over the years and will continue to support her unchangingly.”
Regarding this, Minyoung shared, “I was worried if I could speak honestly as it is.” She expressed caution about how to convey their words since the former member was not present. “We debuted later and started our activities. Being in our 30s, we had many concerns about life, especially after the success of ‘Rollin’. Ultimately, the former member’s decision was the most important, so we decided to respect it after many discussions, and three members remained. Things don’t always go the way we want. It’s the same for the other members and that friend too. Of course, it’s regrettable, but we decided to respect and support her opinion and proceeded to prepare for this album.”
Minyoung also recalled the moment Yujeong expressed her intention to leave. “I wasn’t surprised,” she said. “Since we had shared many stories before, there must have been a part we felt. As a leader, I had a strong desire for her to continue with us a little longer, so rather than being surprised, I was upset. I had talked most with the former member and, as a team, it was very regrettable, but as a person, I had no choice but to understand. However, I did express my disappointment and feelings of being hurt.”
BBGIRLS’ second single ‘LOVE 2’ will be released at 6 PM on the 15th through various online music sites.
