[Sports Chosun Reporter Lee Eun-gi] Actor Baek Sung-hyun revealed the seriousness of his health condition after undergoing tumor surgery last year.
On the episode of SBS’s ‘Hallucinations’ season 2 aired on the 14th, Baek Sung-hyun’s family appeared.
Baek Sung-hyun said, “I had my first child right after getting married. Becoming a husband and a father at the same time, I felt a great sense of responsibility. I worked on construction sites to make a living,” talking about the financial difficulties he faced, which his wife found pitiful.
Baek Sung-hyun mentioned that he has been attending weddings, corporate events, and working as an MC. He said, “After the recent drama ended, I feel anxious about becoming unemployed. I am ready to shine in any role,” cleverly promoting himself.
On the other hand, in response to the affectionate interactions between his wife and mother-in-law, being called “like a mother and daughter,” Baek Sung-hyun said, “I got along well with my mother-in-law since we were dating. When my brother-in-law went to the military, we visited him together and even had drinks. We filled each other’s voids. Even in the early days of our marriage, we lived together for about a year and a half,” saying that his mother-in-law is only 20 years older than him.
Baek Sung-hyun’s family remembered the incident from last year when he was diagnosed with an osteochondroma after going to the hospital due to his painful leg. Baek Sung-hyun recalled, “I injured my heel during exercise, which led to abnormal walking and started feeling pain in the hip joint. In October last year, when I went to the hospital because of the pain, I was diagnosed with hip joint inflammation. I was prescribed medication, but it had no effect. Even after getting hip injections at a major hospital, my condition did not improve. I was in so much pain that I would break into cold sweats even if my kids touched my leg. Puzzled, I went to a comprehensive hospital for an MRI scan, and they said they found something in the hip joint – a tumor.”
So, Baek Sung-hyun underwent high-frequency tumor removal surgery. He said, “I wasted a lot of time going to various hospitals. My body twisted, leading me to the hospital. Although the tumor was removed, it took a long time to rehabilitate because my upper and lower body were twisted. I almost couldn’t film the drama as planned. The situation was very serious. There was a 9cm difference in the lengths of my legs,” he said, revealing that he has now recovered.
