[OSEN=Wooyoung Jang] Actor Ahn Sung-ki has passed away.
On the 5th, his agency, Artist Company, announced, “Actor Ahn Sung-ki passed away at the age of 74 on January 5, 2026, at 9 a.m.”
The agency stated, “Actor Ahn Sung-ki was a person who shared the history of South Korea’s popular culture with a deep sense of duty and consistent diligence in acting,” and continued, “His performances always focused on people and life, delivering deep resonance and comfort across time and generations through numerous works.”
Ahn Sung-ki’s funeral will be conducted as a film industry funeral under the supervision of the Shin Young-kyun Arts and Culture Foundation and the Korean Film Actors Association. Honorary funeral committee chairmen will include Shin Young-kyun, director Bae Chang-ho, Korean Film Actors Association Chairman Lee Kang-seop, Shin Eu-shik, acting head of the Shin Young-kyun Arts and Culture Foundation, and Yang Yoon-ho, chairman of the Korean Filmmakers Association. Actors Lee Jung-jae and Jung Woo-sung, among others, will serve as pallbearers.
Ahn Sung-ki’s memorial hall is prepared at Room 31 of the Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital funeral hall, and the funeral service will be solemnly held at 6 a.m. on the 9th. The burial site is Byeolgeurida in Yangpyeong.
