After the news of Wheesung’s death, old conflicts with Amy rekindle.

The sudden news of singer Wheesung’s death has brought past conflicts with Amy back into the spotlight.

In 2019, Amy posted on her Instagram claiming that she and a male celebrity, identified as “A,” had used propofol and zolpidem together. She also alleged that “A” had plotted to sexually assault her to prevent her from exposing the drug use. Wheesung was subsequently identified as “A” and faced public criticism.

Over time, Wheesung took steps to clarify his position. He stated, “To dispel suspicions surrounding me and offer fans an objective understanding of the facts, disclosure is inevitable,” and released a recorded conversation with Amy. This recording was initiated by Amy and lasted about six minutes, during which Wheesung denied planning any sexual assault against her.

When asked “Why did you do that?” Amy tearfully responded, “Hearing you talk makes me feel like trash.” Wheesung, feeling frustrated, said, “I’ve already been portrayed like this to people” to which Amy replied, “I’ll write a counterstatement. I’m sorry,” admitting her fault.

Wheesung explained the delay in his clarification by noting that Amy did not initially mention any names, and given her apparent mental vulnerability, he felt cautious about acting prematurely. He mentioned that a fact-based statement had been prepared on the day the incident occurred.

Despite his explanations, the incident severely impacted Wheesung’s image, and he endured numerous malicious comments.

Meanwhile, Wheesung’s mother found him deceased at home on the evening of the 10th at 6:29 PM and reported it to the police. His agency, Taejoo Entertainment, stated, “Today, Wheesung left us. The bereaved family, fellow artists, and all staff members are mourning with deep sorrow for the deceased. We are heartbroken to share such tragic news and ask for prayers for his peace.”

Wheesung had planned a joint concert with singer KCM on the 15th at the Daegu EXCO Auditorium. On the 6th, he shared his recent activities on social media, stating, “Diet finished! See you on March 15th.”
