[My Daily = Reporter Lee Seung-gil] Amidst the controversy over excessive security at the airport, Incheon International Airport Corporation has reportedly requested entertainment agencies to have celebrities and other famous individuals use dedicated entrances for their departures.
Recently, a document that Incheon Airport Corporation sent to entertainment agencies has been disclosed online. It states that they will introduce a new procedure to allow celebrities and famous individuals to use dedicated entrances at Incheon Airport and departure halls from October 28, 2024, to minimize situations that could lead to large crowds gathering.
Therefore, celebrities and entertainment agencies that wish to use the dedicated entrances should submit an application in advance to Incheon International Airport Corporation.
The corporation emphasized, “Uncontrolled gatherings of crowds can significantly hinder the comfortable and safe airport experience for our citizens and visiting guests,” and called for cooperation.
The issue originated last July. At that time, actor Byun Woo-seok was seen using flashlights directed at airport users while departing through Incheon Airport. Moreover, he arbitrarily closed off an airport gate used by many passengers and checked the tickets of lounge users.
Subsequently, Incheon International Airport Police Division filed charges without detention against the head of the private security firm, Mr. A, and security guard Mr. B, for violating the Security Services Industry Act. The police concluded that in the course of the security operation, Mr. A and others violated the law by flashing lights at other passengers and checking boarding passes.
