44-year-old Lee Ji-hye, after undergoing IVF, experiences a failed pregnancy: “Diagnosed with genetic abnormalities.”

The broadcaster Lee Ji-hye attempted to conceive for the third time but ultimately did not succeed.

On November 4, Lee Ji-hye uploaded a video on YouTube titled “Lee Ji-hye’s Third Attempt! The Full Story of Three Months of IVF Preparation.” In the video, Lee Ji-hye visited an obstetrician and gynecologist, expressing her desire for another child and stating, “I have a longing for a baby and will make a final attempt at artificial insemination. I will be grateful if it works out, but if it doesn’t, there’s nothing I can do, although the desire persists.”

Eventually, Lee Ji-hye proceeded with the IVF procedure. Out of the 11 eggs retrieved, 5 were successfully fertilized, raising expectations. However, all three embryos that progressed in development were found to have genetic abnormalities, leading to the failure of the IVF.

Lee Ji-hye commented, “Although I’m not feeling great, I am trying to accept it calmly. I really gave it my best with both artificial insemination and IVF, and I don’t think I will prepare for this again. I realize now it was just a desire.”

She added, “Life doesn’t go the way I want it to. I might feel a surge of emotions, but I won’t show them. I am grateful for what I have and, having done my best, I won’t have regrets.”

Born in 1980, Lee Ji-hye is 44 years old and married tax accountant Moon Jae-wan in 2017. The couple has two daughters.
