“조세호 결혼식, 국가 경사냐”…’불참’ 김구라 “정말 화장실 가고 싶은데, 에이 진짜” 소신 발언

“Comedian Kim Gura expressed his frustration over criticism for not attending his junior Jo Se-ho’s wedding. On the 6th, the YouTube channel ‘Grigura’ released a video titled ‘Real Estate Black and White [Kim Gura Show EP.20]’. Toward the end of the main topic, a cookie video addressed the issue of his absence from Jo Se-ho’s wedding, which took place on October 20.

A PD asked Kim Gura, ‘There was Jo Se-ho’s wedding recently, and you didn’t attend, right?’ raising netizens’ curiosity. In response, Kim Gura explained, ‘Many people are curious about that. I got the date for Jo Se-ho’s wedding just a month or two in advance, and I had scheduled my health check-up around the same time.’

He continued, ‘Jo Se-ho’s wedding was on a Sunday, and my health check-up was on the following Monday. I had to take the medication the day before, which leads to constant [bowel movements]. I realized it wouldn’t work out. If I took the medication at the reception, I’d have to run to the bathroom immediately. I couldn’t attend the wedding while dealing with that. So I sent an envelope of money through my manager and texted Jo Se-ho, saying, “Sorry, I have a colonoscopy scheduled,”‘ he explained.

Kim Gura added, ‘Some people say, “Why didn’t you reschedule the health check-up for Jo Se-ho’s wedding?” But is Jo Se-ho that important to me? That’s not the case. If any of you have had a wedding to attend the day after scheduling a colonoscopy, come forward. You can’t go. How can you go when you’re experiencing that? Seriously,’ he exclaimed, drawing laughter.

Netizens reacted with comments such as, ‘The answer is that Jo Se-ho isn’t that important to me. Sending a congratulatory gift and a text was enough,’ ‘Why is Jo Se-ho’s wedding being treated like a national celebration akin to a royal wedding? Keep it reasonable,’ ‘It’s possible not to attend. You can just send a gift if you have other commitments,’ ‘There’s no law saying you must attend. You might not be able to go,’ and ‘It’s surprising to see the wedding being talked about as if it’s a national event.'”
