[OSEN, Kim Na-yeon] Broadcaster Lee Ji-hye conveyed her earnest desire for a third child.
On the 4th, a new video titled “Lee Ji-hye’s Third Attempt! A three-month journey preparing for IVF treatment” was uploaded on the “Unhateful Attention-seeker Sisters” channel. In the video, Lee Ji-hye shared her honest thoughts, expressing hesitation about sharing such personal news but ultimately finding courage in family support and the happiness it brings, whether the attempt is successful or not.
In the video, Lee Ji-hye shared her feelings about visiting the hospital. She stated, “I’m here at the hospital hoping for the best but also being okay if it doesn’t work out. I have a yearning for another baby, and today I came to check if we can give IVF another try. My doctor suggested that since my ovarian function is not bad, we could attempt it once more. Honestly, my mind is all over the place, but since it’s not a crime, I’m questioning why I feel this way.”
After her hospital visit, Lee Ji-hye shared, “Once I signed up, I realized how much I want this. Even though it’s exhausting raising children, they’re so precious.” She continued, “At my age of 45, I asked if there was anyone older who recently conceived, and it turns out, there are many.”
She humorously remarked, “I made a mistake, everyone. Since I’m already here, I’m going to proceed with the embryo transfer tomorrow. It’s all happening suddenly. I’ve already taken the injection which is supposed to ensure the ovulation happens at the right time. The insemination will occur before the upcoming recording session. Am I doing this right? This was something I contemplated for a long time.”
After the insemination, which has a success rate of about 10-15%, Lee Ji-hye expressed her determination to let fate decide the outcome. Her husband, Moon Jae-wan, shared his anxieties due to their age but wished for a healthy baby if they were meant to be blessed with one.
As the days passed, Lee Ji-hye took a pregnancy test out of curiosity, and some faint lines appeared. However, subsequent tests showed she was not pregnant after all. The initial hope turned into disappointment.
After receiving the news that the embryos didn’t pass the genetic tests, Lee Ji-hye reflected on her difficulty in easily letting go. She mentioned being honest with herself, guided by her age and circumstances, that another attempt might not be realistic.
She concluded with a reminder to cherish what they have already and to find happiness in the present. Her husband’s sentiments echoed her thoughts, prioritizing health and happiness over the desire for a third child and finding joy in spending time with their existing children as they grow.
Lee Ji-hye, who married tax accountant Moon Jae-wan in 2017, previously shared her journey of successfully conceiving their second child at age 42 through IVF, inspiring many couples facing similar challenges. Her recent candid sharing of her desire for a third child and the subsequent IVF attempt has sparked numerous supportive comments from viewers. Such comments include admiration for her courage in sharing her story and well-wishes for future attempts at motherhood, reflecting a widespread empathy and support for her journey.
