The memorial service for the late Lee Kun-hee, the former chairman of Samsung, is being held this morning at the family burial site in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province.
Family members, including Hong Ra-hee, former director of the Leeum Samsung Museum of Art, and Lee Jae-yong, chairman of Samsung Electronics, along with Samsung executives, are expected to attend the memorial service.
After the ceremony, Chairman Lee and the Samsung executives plan to have a lunch meeting at the Samsung Human Resources Development Center in Yongin.
As there are internal and external assessments that Samsung is facing a crisis, attention is focused on what solutions Chairman Lee will propose.
The late Chairman Lee Kun-hee suffered a heart attack and collapsed at his home in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, in May 2014, and after being bedridden, he passed away on October 25, 2020, at the age of 78.
