Gyeonggi has the most unsold homes at 9,956, surpassing Daegu
Unsold malignant housing has been increasing for 11 months, ‘Unlike the blazing Seoul real estate market, local markets still cannot escape the stagnation trend. The increase in unsold homes nationwide despite a decrease in Seoul indicates this. In particular, a significant increase in unsold homes was observed in the outskirts of Gyeonggi, away from Seoul and Gyeonggi’s core areas.’,
,
, ‘According to the ‘June Housing Statistics’ released by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport on the 31st, the total number of unsold homes nationwide last month was 74,370 households. This figure increased by 2.6% (1,908 homes) compared to May, marking the seventh consecutive month of increase.’,
,
, ‘The unsold inventory in local regions increased by 2.8% (1,618 homes) to 58,986 homes in just one month. Unsold homes in the metropolitan area increased by 2.0% (290 homes) to 15,051 homes. The increase in Gyeonggi’s unsold homes by over 1,000 homes had a significant impact, surpassing Daegu (9,738 homes) to become the highest in the country with 9,956 unsold homes at the end of last month. This is the highest figure in seven years since June 2017 (11,229 homes). The majority of unsold homes in Gyeonggi were concentrated in Pyeongtaek and Anseong.’,
,
, ‘Unsold homes in Gangwon and Daejeon also saw a significant increase. Unsold homes in Gangwon increased by 30.3% (1,101 homes) to 4,740 homes, while Daejeon increased by 30.0% (761 homes) to 3,299 homes.’,

This is the largest figure in 3 years and 8 months since October 2020 (16,084 homes). Known as ‘malignant unsold homes,’ these post-construction unsold homes have been on the rise for 11 consecutive months. Locations with a high concentration of malignant unsold homes include Gyeongnam (1,771 homes), Gyeonggi (1,767 homes), Daegu (1,635 homes), and Jeollanam-do (1,627 homes). ,
, ‘Transaction volume reflects extreme polarization as well. Apartment transactions in Seoul last month reached 6,150 units (as of the reporting date), the highest in 3 years and 6 months since December 2020 (8,764 units) during the real estate price hike. This marked an 18.7% increase from the previous month and a 48.7% increase compared to the same period last year. Monthly transaction volumes, which were at around 1,790 units in December last year, have been increasing for the 6th consecutive month. The total housing transaction volume in the metropolitan area increased by 4.0% to 28,703 units compared to the previous month, while transactions in local areas decreased by 9.3% to 27,057 units. As a result, the total housing transaction volume in June decreased by 2.9% to 55,760 units compared to the previous month. Go Eun-kyul, Journalist’,
