The Ministry of SMEs and Startups to Open Largest Ever ‘K-Startup Pavilion’ at CES 2025

The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced on the 7th that it will open the largest-ever “K-Startup Unified Pavilion” at the world’s largest tech exhibition, the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025, being held for four days in Las Vegas, USA, until the 10th (local time).

The Ministry is operating the “K-Startup Unified Pavilion” at the Eureka Park (a dedicated area for startups) of CES 2025, supporting the participation and local business matching of excellent Korean startups.

This pavilion, operated in collaboration with 30 domestic startup support organizations, including public institutions, local governments, universities, and large corporations, is the largest ever, with 127 startups showcasing innovative technologies and products. Compared to CES 2024, where 26 organizations and 91 startups participated, the number of participating organizations and companies has increased.

The opening ceremony of the “K-Startup Unified Pavilion” held on the morning of the 7th was attended by many distinguished guests, including Deputy Minister Kim Seong-seop of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, who visited the site to encourage Korean SMEs and venture companies participating in CES. Attendees included Stavros S. Anthony, Lieutenant Governor of Nevada, Choi Yeol-soo, Acting President of the Korea Startup Promotion Agency, Yang Geum-hee, Deputy Governor of Gyeongsangbuk-do, and Lee Seung-won, Deputy Mayor of Sejong City for Economic Affairs.

Deputy Minister Kim emphasized that “Korea’s startup ecosystem is at a global level, with ventures and startups winning 125 CES innovation awards, which the world is watching closely.” He also stated, “The Ministry of SMEs and Startups will actively support innovative ‘K-Startups’ using CES as a stepping stone to advance into the global stage.”

The Consumer Technology Association (CTA), which hosts CES, has announced a total of 461 CES innovation awards in 34 categories so far, with roughly half of these, 210 awards, going to Korean companies. Among them, small and medium enterprises won a total of 130 innovation awards, accounting for about 61.9%, and ventures/startups claimed 125 awards.
