First, it will support startups in women-friendly industries such as beauty and food tech.

In addition, by linking with projects like the ‘Excellence Startup 1000+ Project’, it will support challenges in promising advanced sectors and provide dedicated R&D tasks for women’s enterprises to activate technology-based women’s businesses.

To promote digital transformation in women’s enterprises, it will expand programs for industry-specific digital transformation, including smart services and intelligent stores.

It also plans to offer tailored startup support according to growth stages, preparing generational-specific programs for female college students, aspiring entrepreneurs, and career-holding women.

To further support women’s enterprises venturing into emerging overseas markets, those who apply for government support programs, including export vouchers, will receive additional points.

To support the management activities of female CEOs during pregnancy, childbirth, and childcare, the Yellow Umbrella Fund maternity loans and self-employed maternity benefits will also be expanded.

This plan, established every five years under the ‘Women’s Enterprise Support Act’, focuses on systematically supporting women from startup to growth and global expansion, the Ministry explained.

Through this plan, the Ministry aims to increase the sales of women’s enterprises from 626 trillion KRW last year to 800 trillion KRW by 2029. It also plans to increase the number of employees in women’s enterprises from 5.42 million to 6 million and the number of women’s enterprises above small business level from 83,000 to 100,000 during the same period.

Kim Jeong-joo, Director of SME Strategic Planning, stated, “Women’s enterprises are a new growth engine and innovation entity overcoming low growth and population cliffs,” adding, “We will actively support women so that they can fully utilize their potential.”
