The discount rate for Digital Onnuri Gift Certificates for the Lunar New Year has been increased from 10% to 15%.

The Ministry of SMEs and Startups has announced that it will hold a digital Onnuri gift certificate event for one month starting tomorrow to ease the burden of consumer prices during the Lunar New Year.

To lessen the price burden on citizens purchasing ritual items at traditional markets for the Lunar New Year, the Ministry will increase the discount rate of digital gift certificates from the current 10% to 15%.

Additionally, they plan to reimburse up to 15% of the payment made with digital gift certificates, with a maximum refund of 20,000 won per person.

The actual refunds will be divided into four parts and will be distributed one week after the end of each period through the ‘gift’ and ‘coupon registration’ functions.

Furthermore, during the special discount event at 12 online traditional market places, including Onnuri Market and Onnuri Traditional Market, a 5% discount coupon can be applied when purchasing products with digital gift certificates.

If you apply the digital gift certificate purchase discount, rebate event, and online traditional marketplace discount coupon, you can effectively purchase products with up to a 35% discount.

Additionally, there is a 40% income tax deduction benefit for amounts spent on purchasing holiday gifts and ritual items at traditional markets.

The scale of the Onnuri gift certificate on-site reimbursement has also been significantly expanded from 18 billion won last year to 27 billion won this year, and the number of participating markets in the reimbursement event has increased by 75 compared to the previous year, reaching 280.
