Shinhan Bank Sends Medical Volunteer Team to Uzbekistan, Provides Free Surgeries for 25 Children

(Seoul = News1) Reporter Park Dong-hae = Shinhan Bank announced on the 3rd that it held the ‘Uzbekistan Overseas Medical Volunteer Corps Launch Ceremony’ at Seoul National University Dental Hospital in Jongno-gu, Seoul, on the 2nd.

The Uzbekistan Overseas Medical Volunteer Corps is composed of 26 members, including Shinhan Bank employees and medical staff from Seoul National University Dental Hospital.

The volunteer corps plans to conduct cleft lip and palate and facial deformity surgeries for 25 children selected by the local government at the Tashkent State Dental University in Uzbekistan from the 7th to the 15th.

Additionally, the volunteer team plans to provide free dental care to children and adolescents from vulnerable groups, as well as to newly support prosthetic dental treatments for elderly ethnic Koreans.

At the launch ceremony, Shinhan Bank President Jeong Sang-hyuk said, “I hope that with your dedication and effort, many children can regain their healthy daily lives, and that we can continue to see the bright smiles of the children along with the healthy smiles of the elderly.”

Meanwhile, Shinhan Bank has been conducting overseas medical volunteer activities targeting children from vulnerable groups in developing countries in collaboration with Seoul National University Dental Hospital since 2008.

On this day, Shinhan Bank also donated 100 million won to Seoul National University Dental Hospital to support the overseas medical volunteer work, which marks its 16th year this year.
