, ‘Seoul City announced on the 30th that it will recruit additional ‘Global Real Estate Brokerage Offices’ that support foreign language communication until the 10th of next month.’,
,
, ‘The Global Real Estate Brokerage Offices are places that support foreign language communication for foreigners living in Seoul to help them with real estate transactions such as buying and renting. The city designated 20 global real estate brokerage offices for the first time in the country in 2008 and currently operates 239 global real estate brokerage offices. By language, there are 183 English-speaking offices, 42 Japanese-speaking offices, 11 Chinese-speaking offices, and 3 other language offices (Spanish, Russian, Portuguese). For foreigners using languages not supported by global real estate brokerage offices, the city plans to provide support by linking them with interpreters who can interpret the respective languages at the Seoul Global Center for Foreigners.’,
,
, ‘Any licensed real estate agent operating a real estate agency in Seoul can apply for designation as a Global Real Estate Brokerage Office. However, individuals with a history of violating the Real Estate Brokerage Act within the last year and receiving fines and administrative sanctions will be excluded. Real estate agents (or the representative of a corporation) wishing to be designated should obtain an application form from the relevant district department and submit it after completion. If a designated global real estate brokerage office closes for a break or permanently, moves to another city or province, or receives administrative sanctions due to violations of the Real Estate Brokerage Act, the designation will be revoked.’,
,
, ‘The plan is to conduct a document review in early October and a face-to-face assessment to verify language abilities (speaking and writing) by language, with final designation scheduled for the end of October. Certificates will be awarded to the newly designated offices this year, and promotional logos that can be displayed will be distributed. They will be promoted on the Seoul Foreigner Portal, Seoul Real Estate Information Plaza, 25 district websites, embassies of various countries, and more to make it more accessible for foreigners.’,
,
, ‘Jo Nam-jun, the director of the Urban Space Department at Seoul City, said, “Offices designated as Global Real Estate Brokerage Offices will play an important role in providing information on real estate transactions to foreigners,” and added, “We hope that foreigners residing in Seoul can conduct real estate transactions more safely and conveniently.”.’
