Samsung Electronics announced on the 29th that it has promoted a total of 137 individuals, including 35 vice presidents, 92 directors, and 10 Masters. Samsung explained, “Amid the current management crisis, we implemented personnel changes under the principle of performance-based evaluations, focusing on proven talent to initiate a generational shift.”
Samsung Electronics evaluated that by promoting outstanding personnel with demonstrated capabilities in emerging technology fields, including leaders in software development, they have laid the foundation for accelerating future growth.
For instance, Vice President Park Jeong-ho (age 50), the Deputy Head of the Next-Generation Communication Research Center in the DX division and an expert in communications with achievements in 5G advanced technology development and commercialization, is expected to lead the development of next-generation communication technologies applying AI and building a 6G ecosystem.
Additionally, Samsung Electronics has boldly appointed executives in their 30s and 40s who have significantly contributed to management performance and possess growth potential, regardless of age, to expand and strengthen its pool of future managerial candidates. Vice President Lee Gwi-ho (age 49), the head of the VD Business Division’s Advertisement Service Group in the DX division, known for his expertise in service business from the early days of VD advertising services, has been recognized for driving advertising service revenue growth.
Furthermore, Samsung continues its policy of appointing capable women and foreign leaders, regardless of gender or nationality, to strengthen an innovative organizational culture characterized by diversity and inclusiveness. For example, Vice President Seo Jeong-ah (age 53), the head of the Digital Commerce Team in the MX Division, known as an online business expert, has contributed to revenue expansion by strengthening partnerships and executing data-driven sales strategies.
Among the youngest appointees, Ji-hoon Ha (age 39), who leads the Communication Software Research Team at the CTO SR in the DX division, has been promoted, while Seong-su Im (age 46) has been promoted to Vice President at the DS division’s CTO Semiconductor Research Center DRAM TD1 Team.
