On the 5th, Samsung Electro-Mechanics announced that all its domestic and international plants have achieved the highest platinum certification for ‘Zero Waste to Landfill.’ The ‘Zero Waste to Landfill’ certification, evaluated by the global certification body UL Solutions, assigns grades based on the rate at which waste generated by a plant is reused as resources. Last year, Samsung Electro-Mechanics received the platinum rating for achieving a resource recycling rate of over 99.5% at its domestic plants in Suwon, Sejong, and Busan, as well as its Tianjin plant in China. This year, additional platinum ratings were awarded to its plants in Gaoxin, China, Vietnam, and the Philippines, meaning all its global plants have achieved the highest grade. CEO Chang Duk-hyun stated, “ESG management determines a company’s sustainability,” and committed to creating sustainable value with the environment, local communities, and employees, aspiring to be a trusted and honest company in the global market.
