Acknowledgment of ESG Improvement Efforts
“[Financial News] POSCO Future M announced on the 5th that it received the ‘Outstanding ESG Company’ award at the ‘Korea ESG Standards Institute Outstanding Company Awards’ held at the Korea Exchange in Yeouido, Seoul.
The Korea ESG Standards Institute selects candidate companies three times the number of awardees based on the total score of the annual environment, social, and governance (ESG) evaluations. After a review process, they ultimately select the final awardees. This year, the institute selected a total of 13 companies (top 1.2%) out of 1,066, including five outstanding ESG companies, seven outstanding governance companies, and one honorary company.
POSCO Future M was recognized for its efforts and achievements in ESG improvement, such as establishing a sustainable raw materials supply chain based on a responsible minerals policy, operating regular communication channels between labor and management to form a healthy labor-management relationship, strengthening safety and health management, engaging in continuous activities for mutual growth with local communities, and establishing a management system based on compliance. This is the first time the company has been selected as an outstanding ESG company.
In addition, in the 2024 evaluation ratings announced by the Korea ESG Standards Institute last October, POSCO Future M received an overall A+ grade (very outstanding), placing them in the top 1.9% (20 companies).”
