Lotte Chilsung launches ‘Saero Darae’… Expanding its sugar-free soju lineup.

Lotte Chilsung Beverage announced on the 20th that it will launch a new zero-sugar (sugar-free) soju product called ‘Saero Dalae’ next month. Saero Dalae is an improved version of the existing ‘Saero’ soju, with added Korean kiwi fruit juice to reduce the typical bitterness of soju. It has a light green color and an alcohol content of 12%, similar to ‘Saero Apricot,’ a standard distilled drink. The Saero line originally has a 16% alcohol content.

A representative from Lotte Chilsung Beverage stated, “In line with the diverse drinking trends of consumers, we’ve launched Saero Dalae following Saero Apricot. Before its official sale begins in April, it will be available for tasting at a pop-up store in Apgujeong Rodeo at the end of this month.”

Meanwhile, the zero-sugar soju Saero, launched in September 2022, surpassed 100 million bottles in cumulative sales within seven months of its release. As of 2023, it has achieved annual sales exceeding 100 billion won, establishing itself as a leader in the zero-sugar soju market. In April 2024, Saero Apricot, with real apricot juice added, was launched, expanding the product lineup further.
