LG Electronics has produced a chairperson for the global telecommunications standards organization, 3GPP.

(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Kim Aram – LG Electronics announced on the 14th that Kim Rae-young, a senior researcher at the C&M Standards Lab within the CTO division, has been appointed as the vice-chairman of the ‘SA (Service and System Aspects) Plenary’ within the global telecommunications standards organization 3GPP.

The SA Plenary is a core organization within 3GPP that leads the standardization of system architecture for 5G and 6G mobile communications and defines various service scenarios, requirements, and security mechanisms.

LG Electronics explained that this election of the vice-chairman is a recognition of the company’s world-class technological strength and innovation in the field of communication protocols and system architecture.

With this election of leadership, LG Electronics plans to accelerate research and development in the next-generation communication technology field of 6G and play a leading role in future standardization discussions.

Additionally, the company aims to continuously ensure leadership in the communication technology field, which serves as the foundational technology for various future businesses.

6G can be utilized in various fields that LG Electronics is cultivating as future growth areas, such as AI home, mobility, and smart factories.
