On the 13th, the Korea Economic Federation (HanKyungHyup) held a plaque unveiling ceremony for the first store of the “Noble Store,” a support project for small business owners who are descendants of independence activists, in Chang-dong, Dobong-gu. This “Noble Store” project is a public-private partnership initiative by HanKyungHyup, commemorating the 80th anniversary of Liberation Day, in collaboration with the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, KB Financial Group, the Liberation Association, and Habitat Korea. The project provides support for remodeling business spaces and offering management consulting.
The Palette Art Studio in Chang-dong, Dobong-gu, selected as the first “Noble Store,” is operated by Kim Soo-jung, the great-granddaughter of independence activist Kim Hyuk. Kim Hyuk was a key figure who effectively led the Bukro Military Government Office, participated in the Battle of Cheongsan-ri, and contributed to training independence forces as the civil administration chairman of the Shinminbu. Kim Soo-jung expressed her gratitude for the recognition of her grandfather’s sacrifices.
Ryu Jin, chairman of HanKyungHyup, stated, “Many children will look at the plaque of this prestigious academy and emulate the patriotism of independence activists,” adding that the economic sector will commit itself to supporting the honorable lives of the families of independence activists.
