Kia to Begin Pre-orders for ‘The Kia EV4’
(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Hong Gyu-bin = Kia announced on the 10th that it will begin taking pre-orders for the brand’s first electric sedan, ‘The Kia EV4,’ starting on the 11th.
The EV4 is Kia’s fourth electric vehicle following the EV6, EV9, and EV3, and it marks their first entry into the compact (C-segment) electric sedan market.
The model is available in two versions based on battery capacity: a long-range version with an 81.4 kWh battery and a standard version with a 58.3 kWh battery.
The long-range model can travel up to 533 km on a single charge (based on 2WD with 17-inch wheels), making it the longest-range vehicle among the Hyundai Motor Group’s electric cars.
Both models boast a combined power efficiency of 5.8 km/kWh (based on 2WD with 17-inch wheels), the best among Kia’s electric vehicles. The drag coefficient is the lowest for Kia vehicles at 0.23.
Taking into account electric vehicle tax benefits and government/local subsidies (based on Seoul), the actual purchase prices are expected to be in the 34 million won range for the standard model and 38 million won for the long-range model, Kia explained.
Kia plans to collaborate with the fashion platform Musinsa to host an online showcase, digital fashion films, runway shows, and pop-up exhibitions.
Customers participating in the EV4 Early Check-In event will be given the opportunity to experience the vehicle through an ‘Exclusive Preview.’
The EV4 is also set to be displayed at the Gwangju Kia Champions Field and the 2025 Seoul Mobility Show, which will be held at KINTEX in Gyeonggi Province.
Jung Won-jung, Head of Kia’s Domestic Business Headquarters, stated, “In a domestic electric vehicle market primarily focused on SUVs, the EV4 will present a new direction and lead to popularization. We have prepared various events so that many customers can experience the charm of the EV4.”
