Jonghee Yang, Chairman of KB Financial Group, attended the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025, the world’s largest mobile exhibition held in Barcelona, Spain. Chairman Yang visited booths of major domestic telecom companies such as SKT, KT, LG U+, along with those of Samsung Electronics, Microsoft (MS), and IBM. His visit demonstrated a commitment to create innovative financial services through collaboration with domestic and international information and communication technology (ICT) companies, as digital transformation becomes a core competitiveness in the financial industry.
According to KB Financial on the 6th, Chairman Yang participated in MWC 2025 to directly observe and confirm the innovative technologies of global leading companies, and to establish a basis for mutual cooperation. At the event, Chairman Yang met with CEO Youngsub Kim of KT to discuss strategies for creating synergies utilizing both companies’ strengths in finance and telecommunications, and learned about the latest technologies and services from telecom companies. He also visited booths of global leading companies such as Samsung Electronics, IBM, Microsoft, and Google to gain insights for formulating digital business strategies.
During a meeting with IBM’s Senior Vice President Mohammad Ali, they engaged in an in-depth discussion on workflow automation agents using generative artificial intelligence (AI), exploring ways to enhance work efficiency and performance. A representative from KB Financial Group stated, “Through attending MWC 2025, we are confirming the fusion possibilities of the latest communication technologies and financial services,” and emphasized their plan to actively pursue collaboration with telecom and IT companies to provide customers with a differentiated financial experience.
