KAI, expected to secure over 8 trillion won in orders this year.

Last year’s sales decreased by 4.9% compared to the previous year. This year, sales are expected to exceed 4 trillion won.

On the 7th, Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) announced, “Last year’s sales recorded 3.6337 trillion won, a 4.9% decrease from the previous year,” but added, “However, this year’s sales are expected to increase, reaching 4 trillion won for the first time.”

KAI announced last year’s performance results, reporting △orders of 4.9022 trillion won, △sales of 3.6337 trillion won, and △an operating profit of 2407 billion won. The forecast for this year includes △orders of 8.459 trillion won and △sales of 4.087 trillion won.

KAI explained, “The export of finished aircraft decreased relatively compared to 2023, when the delivery of 12 FA-50GFs to Poland had a significant impact.” However, regarding this year’s guidance, they stated, “Sales are expected to exceed 4 trillion won for the first time,” and added, “With the mass production of the KF-21 becoming serious and ongoing FA-50 series fighter exports, solid growth is anticipated.” For the civil sector, which supplies parts such as the tail wings for commercial aircraft, they emphasized, “In light of the ongoing recovery in the commercial aircraft market, sales nearing 1 trillion won are expected to be achieved.”

KAI President Kang Goo-young noted, “Last year was significant as we were recognized for our global competitiveness by achieving orders in the aircraft structure business and securing the first export of Surion,” and added, “This year, we will expand our domestic business areas and aggressively pioneer the export market.”

KAI also mentioned that the order backlog by the end of 2024 is approximately 24.7 trillion won, an increase of about 2.9 trillion won compared to the previous year.
