Choi Tae-won, SK Group Chairman, held an emergency strategy meeting as the second trial result of the divorce lawsuit between Choi Tae-won and Na So-young, the director of the Na-bi Art Center, came out.
According to industry sources, SK Group held an ad hoc meeting today (3rd) at its head office in Seorin-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, to discuss future response measures.
It was reported that the meeting was attended by Chairman Choi and CEOs of major affiliates.
Earlier, the Seoul High Court Civil Panel 2 (Judges Kim Si-cheol, Kim Ok-gon, Lee Dong-hyun) ruled that Chairman Choi should pay 1.38 trillion won in property division and 200 million won in alimony to Director Na. It was also judged that about 30 billion won of Director Na’s father, No Tae-woo’s, unreported funds flowed into SK Group.
The industry is reporting that the meeting was convened to explore SK Group’s response at the Supreme Court, including filing an appeal.
If the Supreme Court upholds the ruling, Chairman Choi will have to pay interest close to 19 million won per day until the property division and alimony settlement is completed.
On the other hand, Choi’s side announced plans to press criminal charges against the initial distributor of the ruling document, citing widespread online distribution of the ruling, which contained personal conversations within the family.
