Dual-Root Chairman of Booyoung Group appointed as an advisor to the Prime Minister of Cambodia

“Chairman Lee Joong-keun of Booyoung Group has been appointed as an advisor to Prime Minister Hun Sen of Cambodia,” according to a report on May 19th. Booyoung Group stated that Chairman Lee received the advisor appointment letter from Prime Minister Hun Sen at Lotte Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul, on the 17th. Vice Prime Minister Soon Chandol, also the Vice Chairman of the Development Commission, and Minister Cham Nimol were present at the event.

According to Booyoung, Prime Minister Hun Sen, who took office last August, has appointed an advisor directly to a Korean entrepreneur for the first time. Booyoung announced that Chairman Lee is expected to assist in various policy decisions, including Cambodia’s economic development, as an advisor to Prime Minister Hun Sen.

Booyoung has been carrying out consistent social contributions in Cambodia, such as donating 1,300 buses. They have also supported educational materials like 3,000 digital pianos, 40,000 blackboards, and building funds for 300 elementary schools. Currently, Booyoung Group is constructing ‘Booyoung Town,’ a 15,000-household apartment complex in Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia. Within Booyoung Town, ‘Friendship Cambodia School’ will be established, accommodating approximately 1,800 students in 71 classrooms from preschool to high school, including a nursing college.”
