Three-Day Event at COEX in Seoul… Keynote by Samsung Electronics President Song Jae-hyuk
(Seoul=Yonhap News) Reporter Kang Tae-woo — Global semiconductor companies will gather in one place to showcase advanced semiconductor technologies.
The International Semiconductor Equipment and Materials Association (SEMI) announced on the 19th that South Korea’s largest semiconductor exhibition, “SEMI Korea 2025,” will be held at COEX in Gangnam, Seoul, for three days, from today to the 21st.
This year, over 500 companies will participate, including global chipmakers such as Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, Micron, Global Foundry, Infineon, and Kioxia, as well as major semiconductor material, component, and equipment companies like ASML, Applied Materials (AMAT), Lam Research, Tokyo Electron (TEL), and KLA, to showcase advanced semiconductor technologies.
The theme of this year’s SEMI Korea is “Lead The Edge,” where cutting-edge technology like Artificial Intelligence (AI) is reshaping the semiconductor industry, and participants can encounter edge technologies leading the innovation.
Over 30 conferences will be held during the event, featuring 200 experts representing the semiconductor industry who will share the latest semiconductor technologies and market trends.
Particularly, Song Jae-hyuk, the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Samsung Electronics’ Device Solutions (DS) Division, will deliver the keynote address on the opening day on “Semiconductor Innovations for a Better Life.”
Additionally, presentations will be made by Luke Van den Hove, President and CEO of imec, Bill Mitenko, Corporate VP at AMD, Ravi Subramanian, Chief Product Officer at Synopsys, and Prabu Raja, President of the Semiconductor Products Group at AMAT.
AMAT, Global Foundry, Micron, Infineon, and Kioxia will engage in business meetings with domestic companies at a procurement consultation aimed at supporting the global expansion of Korean material, component, and equipment companies.
SEMI expressed hope that SEMI Korea will be a venue where semiconductor companies worldwide can discover insights for new business collaborations and strengthening competitiveness.
The “SEMI Korea Leadership Dinner,” held in the afternoon, will feature a welcome speech by Kwon Oh-jung, President of the Korea Semiconductor Industry Association and CEO of SK Hynix, with 500 global semiconductor leaders and executives gathering to share insights into the semiconductor industry.
