’25th Memorial Concert for Asan Chung Ju-yung’ [NewsisPic]

Chung Eui-sun, Chairman of Hyundai Motor Group, stated, “We will carry forward the spirit of founder Chung Ju-yung to create a better future.” Hyundai Motor Group held a memorial concert to mark the 25th anniversary of Chung Ju-yung’s passing. Held at Seoul Arts Center’s Concert Hall on the 25th, the “25th Anniversary Memorial Concert for Chung Ju-yung: A Continuing Resonance” was attended by family members from the wider Hyundai family, including Chung Mong-joon, Chairman of the Asan Foundation, and Chung Ki-sun, Chairman of HD Hyundai, as well as officials from various sectors.

The event featured performances by top pianists Kim Sun-wook, Sunwoo Yekwon, Cho Seong-jin, and Lim Yunchan. The concert concluded with performances of Wagner’s “Tannhäuser Overture” and Liszt’s “Hexameron,” arranged for four pianos. During the memorial speech, Chung Eui-sun expressed that the event was organized to honor the profound “resonance” left by his grandfather. He emphasized that, despite facing numerous challenges 25 years later, the resonance still profoundly impacts him and everyone, imparting great wisdom. He vowed to continue his grandfather’s legacy to build a better future.
