In the incidents following the arrest of a special evangelist from the Sarang Jeil Church, another person involved in the disturbance at the Seoul Western District Court has been apprehended. According to the police, the Mapo Police Station in Seoul arrested Yoon, a special evangelist from the Sarang Jeil Church led by Pastor Jeon Kwang-hoon, on charges including trespassing. A detention warrant has been requested for Yoon, who is accused of storming the court early on January 19th and shouting slogans calling for support of President Yoon Suk-yeol. Yoon has a history of being penalized for damaging a statue in Gwangju in 2023 and was previously ordered to pay compensation for disparaging a pastor during a protest in front of a church in 2022.
Additionally, YouTuber Kim, who operates the channel “Kim Sarang Poet,” was arrested for live-streaming the disturbance. The police are investigating whether Kim and other YouTubers incited violence and whether there was any collusion or influence behind their actions. A police official mentioned that the investigation focuses on YouTubers who have significantly disrupted public order during live broadcasts, signaling the beginning of their crackdown on such activities.
