The wind chill makes it feel like -17°C… Temperatures are expected to return to normal levels tomorrow.

Today (the 10th), the morning temperature in Seoul dropped to -12 degrees Celsius, marking the coldest weather of this winter. This cold spell is expected to continue until tomorrow.

This is reporter Seo Dong-kyun.

The biting cold wind is causing the severe cold to continue for several days.

This morning, the lowest temperature in Seoul was -12.2 degrees Celsius, the lowest of this winter, and the wind chill dropped to -17 degrees Celsius due to strong winds.

In Daegwallyeong, the temperature was the coldest in the country at -23.2 degrees, with Jangsu at -18.7 degrees, Paju at -18.4 degrees, and morning temperatures around -15 degrees in the central region.

Cold wave warnings are in effect for Gangwon and northeast Gyeonggi, some parts of Chungbuk and Gyeongbuk, while cold wave advisories are issued for most other regions nationwide.

Daytime temperatures will also be below freezing in many parts of the country, with Seoul at -2 degrees and Sejong at -1 degree.

The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) forecasts that due to the influence of cold air from the northwest, temperatures will remain lower than average until tomorrow morning but will gradually recover to normal levels from the afternoon.

In certain parts of Chungcheong and Honam, where 10-20 cm of snow has already accumulated, more snow is expected to fall until the day after tomorrow.

The expected snowfall is 5-20 cm in the mountainous areas of Jeju, 3-8 cm along the west coast of Jeonbuk, and 1-5 cm in the inland areas of Chungnam and central Honam.

The KMA has advised caution due to the expected icy roads and freeze from the low temperatures, emphasizing traffic and pedestrian safety.

In the east coast and parts of northern Gyeongbuk, the air will be very dry.

A dry weather warning has been issued for the east coast of Gangwon and the northeastern mountains of Gyeongbuk, necessitating caution against wildfires and other fires.

Today, very strong winds with instantaneous speeds of over 20 meters per second are expected around Jeju Island, and strong waves are expected in most seas, requiring caution for ships navigating or fishing.
